For individual qurban or aqiqah, a Bengal goat is commonly used. This breed is widely recognised for its good meat quality and suitability for sacrifice, and it is commonly found in Bangladesh where our operations are based. Each animal is carefully selected to ensure that it meets Islamic requirements, including being of the appropriate age, healthy, and free from any physical defects.
For larger group participation, the Red Chittagong Cattle, commonly known as RCC, is used. A single cow can be shared among up to seven participants, making it a practical option for collective qurban. These cattle are indigenous to Bangladesh and are well-regulated within the local livestock ecosystem. Each cow is selected based on its health, size, and compliance with Islamic guidelines for sacrifice.
All qurban and aqiqah orders are personally overseen by our Headmaster, who is also the Guru Utama, with over 14 years of direct experience managing qurban operations on the ground together with his close group of friends. His involvement ensures that every aspect, from livestock selection to slaughtering procedures and distribution, is handled with diligence and care. This hands-on approach reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards and fulfilling the trust placed in us by participants.
Yes. You will receive:
Receipt for your contribution
Photo documentation of your qurban/aqiqah
Certificate of completion
This ensures full transparency and accountability.
Bangladesh was chosen primarily because it is an area of high need, where qurban contributions can make a significant and immediate difference to underserved communities. At the same time, we have direct access to operations on the ground, allowing us to manage the entire process closely without relying on multiple layers of agents, beyond the necessary local partners in Bangladesh. This ensures greater transparency, accountability, and control over how the ibadah is carried out and distributed.
Our operations also serve a substantial number of beneficiaries. In the previous year alone, a total of 11,950 kg of meat, including portions from the meat, skin, and internal organs, was distributed. Of this, 7,767.5 kg reached 11,096 individuals from poor and needy communities, 3,585 kg was distributed to 60 orphanages, and 597.5 kg was shared among 299 local volunteers who supported the operations. This scale of impact reflects our commitment to ensuring that every contribution meaningfully reaches those who need it most.
Despite these efforts, the demand far exceeded what we were able to provide. We did not have enough meat to cater to everyone, and had to leave some individuals and families disappointed. As such, we humbly appeal for more donors to come forward this year, so that together, we may reach even more communities and ensure that fewer are left behind.
The ruling on qurban differs slightly depending on the school of thought. The majority of scholars consider qurban to be a highly encouraged practice, known as sunnah mu’akkadah, for those who are financially able. However, within the Hanafi school, qurban is regarded as wajib, or obligatory, for Muslims who meet certain financial criteria. Regardless of the classification, it is widely regarded as an important act of devotion that reflects obedience and gratitude.
For individuals who are financially able, performing qurban each year is strongly encouraged. While it may not be obligatory according to most schools of thought, it is a consistent and meaningful act of worship that commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and reinforces one’s sense of gratitude and submission to Allah. Many Muslims choose to perform it annually as part of their spiritual practice.
Aqiqah is traditionally the responsibility of the parents and is usually performed when a child is young. If it was not carried out, scholars hold differing opinions on whether it remains necessary later in life. Some are of the view that the responsibility lapses if it was not done during childhood, while others permit and even encourage an individual to perform aqiqah for themselves. As such, if you wish to carry it out, it is permissible and considered a commendable act.
While there may be cheaper options available, the decision should not be based on cost alone, but on trust, impact, and the confidence that your ibadah is properly fulfilled. In our case, Bangladesh is where we have built direct, on-ground access over many years, allowing us to manage the entire process closely without relying on multiple layers of agents. This ensures greater transparency, accountability, and peace of mind that your qurban is carried out in accordance with Islamic requirements.
More importantly, this is not a new or experimental effort. Since 2012, what began as a small initiative among friends has grown into a consistent and established operation. In 2025 alone, we distributed close to 11,950 kg of meat to over 11,000 individuals, including orphanages and local volunteers. This reflects a proven system that is already reaching communities in a meaningful and sustained way.
Bangladesh is also where we have personally witnessed the need. In many of the communities we serve, meat is considered a luxury and is not part of the regular diet. For some families, qurban may be one of the very few times in the year that they are able to consume meat. Despite the scale of our operations, there are still instances where demand exceeds what we are able to provide, and some are left without. This is something we have seen firsthand, and it continues to drive our efforts.
It is also worth noting that Bangladesh is a predominantly Muslim country, with about 90% of its population being Muslim. This means that qurban is deeply understood and valued within the communities we serve, and your contribution directly supports a practice that is both religiously meaningful and socially impactful.
Ultimately, the value of qurban lies in sincerity and proper fulfilment, not location. However, choosing a place where there is genuine need, alongside a system you trust, ensures that your ibadah not only fulfils its purpose, but reaches those who benefit from it the most. Performing it in such communities allows the impact of your ibadah to be maximised.
