Sendeng Teratai is dedicated to nurturing well-rounded pesilats by integrating martial techniques, holistic personal development, and the preservation of Malay heritage. We aim to inspire a global community through the values of discipline, adaptability, and the pursuit of excellence, reflecting the timeless wisdom of the lotus.

What is our value proposition?

Despite its deep roots in silat, Sendeng Teratai actively promotes the art as a medium for developing healthy routines and habits in its students. The organization regularly engages the public to provide a nuanced understanding of Malay culture, focusing on Pencak Silat not just as a competitive sport but as a means to forge meaningful relationships within the community.

Sendeng Teratai is also not commercially driven and passionately involved in community service, collaborating with various Non-Governmental Organizations, Self-Help Groups, and like-minded individuals. To make silat accessible to as many people as possible, it maintains low fees for students. The organization also works closely with vulnerable families and at-risk youths, offering healthy activities to engage them.

Open to students of diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds, Sendeng Teratai welcomes individuals from all ethnicities. Classes are mostly conducted in English.
